Pool deck renovation.

The deck is where most of the time around a pool is actually spent. Updating it can make a pool more comfortable, safer underfoot and better connected to the house.

Considerations

What to think about

  1. 01

    Size and layout

Many older decks are too narrow for loungers and walking room. Extending the deck can change how the pool gets used.

  2. 02

    Surface and heat

Material and color affect how hot the deck gets in July and how slip-resistant it is when wet.

  3. 03

    Drainage

Water needs somewhere to go. Slope and drains help protect the pool, the deck and the foundation of the house.

  4. 04

    Cracks and movement

North Texas soils move. Cracked or heaving sections are common and worth evaluating before choosing a repair or replacement.

Coordinated with the pool edge

Deck work meets the coping, so we look at both together. If the coping is also due for replacement, doing them at the same time usually gives the cleanest result.
